| TECHNIPORT AVIATION SUPPORT FACILITY | Miami, Florida |
| |
The Techniport Aviation Support Facility comprises the first phase of a multi- purpose complex designed to ultimately consolidate onto one 35 acre site. Currently various aviation support activities inefficiently spread over some 75 acres of land along the northern perimeter of Miami International Airport. These activities include: aircraft storage, aircraft maintenance, flight crew training, cargo transfer, aircraft sales and government regulatory agencies. The primary physical organization of project elements separates “Landside” from “Airside” activities and disposes them on either side of an east-west service road, which also defines the security line controlling access to the restricted airside. Landside facilities include employee
parking lots and a 6-story office building. The office building is sub-divided
internally by a full height atrium separating the executive offices toward
the street from the support offices toward the rear. A north-south central
spine aligned with the front entrance and bridging the atrium, ties these
elements together on all floors and continues across the service road
to the airside where it houses a lower hierarchy of offices, storage areas,
and shops related to restricted airside activities.
