Throughout its 75-year history, Booker T. Washington High School has been a focal point for community interaction and academic achievement.
MCHarry Associates took part in the school's conversion from a middle school to a high school. This conversion involved the new construction of a new 827-seat theater / auditorium, 2,500-seat gymnasium, 4 state-of-the-art computer labs, 1 photography lab, 19 general classrooms, 2 health education classrooms, 2 vocational health science labs, 1 vocational child care lab, 2 vocational distributive and diversified labs, 4 vocational business labs and site improvements.
The new construction connects to the existing facilities via a multi-level walkway bridge at all floors which frames a central courtyard that provides a forum for both community dialogue and student discourse.
