Dating back to 1959, Miami
Central Senior High School is comprised of 34 permanent buildings, several
relocatable units (portables), and three sports fields, all distributed
over a 34-acre site. The current enrollment
is 2,987 students in grades 9 thru 12, with 242 faculty and staff
positions.
MCHarry Associates has been commissioned by MDCPS to conduct a campus-wide
survey and validate / quantify scope related to various renovation items.
The survey evaluates several proposed renovation items
on each of the 34 permanent buildings as well as several additional items
throughout the campus.
Subsequently, MCHarry was engaged to develop a $59 mllion phased replacement driven campus-wide Masterplan. MCHarry was awarded the first phase of the improvements. Phase 1 includes the design of a 90,000sf, 3-story general classroom building, sports track, fields, courts, and central utility plant; sized to serve the entire campus.
