The Carnival Student Center, located on the ground floor of FIU’s Biscayne Bay Campus Hospitality and Tourism Management Building, was funded through a grant from the Carnival Foundation which oversees the Cruise Line's philanthropic endeavors.  The 2550sf remodeling and expansion project transforms an underutilized office area into an inviting Student Lounge Area with dramatic views to Biscayne Bay. Project amenities include a kitchenette and vending area, a computer lab, and four academic support offices.

The design of the space is reminiscent of cruise ship interiors and incorporates a curtain wall feature that takes the form of a ship's hull. The Center is accessed from a glass enclosed lobby and has six distinct seating areas including the lounge area with a large flat screen television, a built-in banquette seating area, multiple open seating areas with tables, and two individual interactive computer stations.
