The City of Miami Melreese Golf Training Center includes specialized instructional areas, a classroom, and support spaces that will enhance the course's instructional capabilities for golfers of all ages. Much of the building will be occupied by the Miami chapter of The First Tee, an organization whose mission is ' to impact the lives of young people around the world by creating affordable and accessible golf facilities to primarily serve those who have not previously had exposure to the game and its positive values.' The 5,000sq ft facility features state of the art instructional bays which open to the driving range, and classroom and study areas which will facilitate after school and weekend programs. The building will also be used by the Dade Amateur Golf Association in support of tournaments held at the course. The project is currently registered with the US Green Building Council and is tracking LEED Silver certification. |
