Southridge Park Community Aquatic Center
The Southridge Park Recreation and Aquatic Community Center is a municipal civic facility designed to support year-round community programming, recreation, and public gathering within a multi-building park environment. MCHarry & Associates serves as the Prime Consultant and Lead Architect, providing full architectural services for a new one-story community center totaling approximately 27,000 square feet of programmed facilities, including a 7,000-square-foot main building, a 2,000-square-foot support services building, and an 18,000-square-foot aquatic and pool deck area.
The main building is organized around a central lobby and reception area and includes flexible multipurpose/event spaces, fitness facilities, and indoor support areas. The project integrates with outdoor program elements, including a splash pad, an eight-lane competition swimming pool, shaded recreation areas, and a dining patio, along with supporting locker rooms, a kitchen, and restroom facilities. The design emphasizes efficient circulation, operational functionality, and long-term durability to accommodate high-volume public use, while incorporating sustainable design strategies and targeting LEED Silver certification.
MCHarry & Associates coordinated architectural, structural, civil, landscape, and MEP disciplines to deliver a fully integrated public facility that combines buildings, site development, utilities, and outdoor recreation amenities within an active municipal park setting.
