Florida International University Hospitality and Tourism Management Restaurant
FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management has opened a new 160 seat teaching restaurant where students access the highest quality kitchen facilities, wine cellar, bartending training area, and expansive teaching dining room to support a hands-on, experiential learning approach.
The dining room is organized around a two-story atrium anchored with a circular wine cellar on one end, and a bartending training area on the other.
Flanking it on either side is additional dining environment, a portion of which accommodates a chef’s table for culinary demonstrations and special events. In conjunction with this unique dining environment, FIU is also improving their teaching kitchen aka their Advanced Food Preparation Lab. The 2,500sf kitchen facility includes primary and secondary food prep areas, pastry and pantry prep space, a Barista Station and ware washroom.
