West Lakes Preparatory Academy

West Lakes Preparatory Academy is a new K-8 Center located within an existing MDCPS school campus.  The original school was designed in the 1980s for at risk students housing 430 student, which was closed in 2000.  MCHarry was asked to master plan a 1200 student K-8 center utilizing the existing buildings MCHarry completed renovation of the administration building and the classroom buildings along with playground equipment.  Construction schedule was limited to 6 months with design documents produced within 3 months from authorization.  Scope included all new doors, windows, finishes, electrical and mechanical upgrades.
